About the Venous Education Institute of North America (VEIN)

The Venous Educational Institute of North America (VEIN) is an educational initiative developed and supported by the American Venous Forum dedicated to advancing the understanding of clinical challenges presented by diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This multidisciplinary initiative is designed to highlight new developments in diagnostic methods, endovascular techniques, surgical procedures, and management protocols for one of the most common and challenging of venous complications. Major elements of VEIN include a major national symposium, CME programs, clinical research, consumer awareness, and this web site.

Where can VEIN information be found in this site?
VEIN-sponsored information is integrated throughout this website. In the past, VEIN information was handled independently from the AVF, even though the AVF and VEIN convey similar information.  This incorporation will be mostly transparent to our visitors.
